Mother's Milk

Red Hot Chili Peppers

This one took me two or three listens to get into, but it was well worth the effort. While not as pop-driven or melodic as the newer RHCP that I’m used to, I love this album’s energy and rhythmic drive and how tight the rhythm section is (see: “Magic Johnson”). Tracks such as “Subway to Venus” and “Nobody Weird Like Me” are fun and display RHCP’s loose and goofy character well.

Favorite tracks: “Good Time Boys,” “Taste the Pain,” and “Johnny, Kick a Hole in the Sky.”
