I try not to rate albums on this blog, but the best way to describe this is a solid 5/10: I like these tracks musically and lyrically, but most of the time, I’d probably reach for something else.
Regardless, “Demolition Man“‘s riff is insanely catchy, and Stewart’s snare tone on “Spirits in the Material World” is superb. I love the driving tempo of “Ωmegaman” and Summers’ guitar part, which fits the dystopian atmosphere perfectly.
I find “Too Much Information” more relevant than when it was released in 1981 (“Too much information running through my brain / Too much information driving me insane”). In a way, the song represents why I’m doing this project!
