Vulfmon
I love this fun and funky album from the Vulfmon himself. It feels like a series of Vulfpeck outtakes, and spans a wide variety of styles, ranging from emo-like and AI-Michael-Jackson-voice-processed vocals (“Nice To You”) to a children’s song (“It Feels Good To Write A Song”).
According to Genius, Jacob Jeffries’ vocals on “Nice To You” are processed through a Michael Jackson voice model. I thought this was a little strange at first, but I got used to it quickly. As listeners, I think we’ll have to become more comfortable with AI in the music production process; this is the first time since Now And Then I’ve been aware of ML/AI technologies used obviously in an album to which I’m listening.
Picking a favorite track is difficult because they’re all unique and quite good, but my top three are probably “Tokyo Night,” “Disco Snails,” and “Hit The Target (Vulfmix).” I also enjoyed the Beatles characteristics on “Little Thunder” and the dreamy “Surfer Girl” cover.
By the way, I believe this is the first time I’ve repeated an artist: Evangeline appears on the first three tracks!
